Privacy by design means putting the user first and helping them to be aware of the privacy implications of using your app/product and how to manage their data in a way that gives them power on how it is used.

A practical way to do this is by allowing users the choice to allow the application to access the device location or to periodically allow the users to select how their data should continue being used.

It is also important to be clear to users on Third Party Access by clarifying if their data will be shared with Third Parties and extracting their exact consent for third party access.

Additionally, be careful with contact list data, identify which fields are necessary to fill a particular feature and do not extract the data for other non specified purposes without the consent of the user.

Lastly it is also important to develop a clear and comprehensive privacy policy that informs the user of their privacy rights and directs them to more detailed information on how their data is handled.
